The lunfardo appeared in Buenos Aires and Montevideo in the middle of S. XIX with the Italian inmigrants (the word come from the Lombardo idiom, and others dialects from the north of Italy and Switzerland, there were some contributions from France, the English language, gallego and Portuguese.
The lunfardo more closer, began like a prision language, because the guardians didn`t understand what the prisioners were talking. But the mayority of words came from the european inmigrants, like another words from Argetinian Pampa.
There are some kinds of lunfardo, like mix the syllables generating new words, called ¨verse¨(al revès in spanish meaming opposite order) like GOTAN, meaming TANGO.
